Work continues within the framework of the project titled "PROTECT – Pandemic Response and Operational Tactics for Enhanced Containment and Tracking"

Our key partner, the Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association, participated in the conferences of their partners in Ukraine, Slovakia, and Romania in recent weeks. The aim of the meetings was to coordinate the tasks undertaken in the project, to meet with the specialists and experts involved by the partners, to learn about the current situation regarding rabies typical in the regions across the border, as well as laboratory visits.

Rabies, and other diseases transmitted from animal to human (zoonoses), do not know country borders, as wild and stray animals also do not stop at the country border.

The disease rabies can be fatal if treatment is not started in time, which is why it is of paramount importance to recognise it at the first signs – whether it is an animal or a human.

In the further part of their work, our partner will examine the awareness of the population and livestock farmers regarding rabies and other zoonoses in connection with the research conducted within the framework of the project.

They have started developing the research methodology, and the survey will also start soon. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine Interreg VI-A NEXT 2021–2027 Programme, in partnership with the Földkelte Cultural and Environmental Association.
