The PROTECT Project – on the Spread and Prevention of Rabies and Other Zoonoses – Has Been Launched
Our partner, the Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association held the Hungarian opening conference of the programme named "PROTECT – Pandemic Response and Operational Tactics for Enhanced Containment and Tracking", with identification number HUSKROUA/23/RI/2.1/011, on 25-26 September 2025.
The two-year project's goal is to promote epidemiological preparedness for zoonoses, cooperation, and effective response measures in the cross-border partnership.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine Interreg VI-A NEXT 2021–2027 Programme, in partnership with our key partner, the Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association.
The tasks undertaken by the Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association in the project: to assess the knowledge of the population, livestock farmers, and hunters in the partner countries and domestic border regions regarding the spread, treatment, and control possibilities of rabies and other zoonoses.
Their task is furthermore to publish the results of the survey in the form of a scientific publication, and to prepare popular science publications, brochures for prevention and information purposes.
As part of the two-year project, further professional meetings, consultations, workshops, as well as public information lectures will be held.
