Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association in Tokyo
Planetrise Association in Tokyo: Dr Péter Gergő Juhász, Head of the "Sustainable Africa" research group at the Africa Research Institute of Óbuda University and representative of the Planetrise Association, was invited to SEIKEI University in Tokyo. Péter gave a lecture on the association's current projects in Africa, carried out in cooperation with the Hungary Helps Agency Nonprofit Ltd.
These projects include:

"Medical Missions in Ethiopia", where the Embassy of Hungary in Ethiopia acts as a strategic partner.

Our Food Security Programme in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where, in addition to educational activities, we are also engaged in agriculture in collaboration with the local organisation VÉTO in Eastern Congo.

The Ugandan programme of the Jane Goodall Institute, supported by Hungary Helps, which involves the construction of school boats and boat docks, the renovation of a primary school building, and swimming education for the local population.Japanese students showed great interest and took part actively in the discussion following the lecture.
The audience also included Hungarian participants, among them Hajnalka Juhász, a student of class 10.F at the Bessenyei György Grammar School and Boarding School in Kisvárda (who happens to be the daughter of Péter and his wife, Szilvi). Hajnalka has been a regular volunteer at the association for two years and will be eligible to apply for full membership this November after turning 18.
In addition, Professor Hakata carried out a research project in Eastern Hungary in 2022, during which he received support from the Planetrise Association.
Péter and his colleagues will continue their journey to Kyoto and then Osaka, and in the coming days, they will also visit Seoul to further explore Eastern cultures.
